Horton Hears a Who
I found this amazing video, on how they act out the characters expressions before animating, and the comparison of this to the different stages of animation. I really enjoy looking at the making of these sorts of animations from start to finish, and how a slight exaggeration to the expression and movements can make such a massive difference to the finished piece.
In the actual film I adore the beginning sequence where Horton first dives into the pool of water, as an opening sequence and an introduction into what his character is going to be like, it sums up his character and personality perfectly. It was so inventive to use his ears to turn into different hats, which happens at various points throughout the film, from a swimming cap, a shooting cap and a cowboy hat.
